Structure from Motion

Structure from Motion (SfM) is a photogrammetric technique that reconstructs 3D models of a scene from a series of overlapping 2D images. SfM was developed in the 1990s, and has taken off in a big way as the cost of high-quality cameras has declined, computing power has increased, and image processing softwares become more automated and accurate.

SfM now has wide application in the fields of robotics, media, and geography. In this course, we will use open-source (freely-available) software to create our own 3D models.
